Roy Engle

October 23, 1927 - December 27, 2021

Roy Engle, 94, of rural Burket, Indiana passed at 3:10 pm, Monday, December 27, 2021 at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw, Indiana. Roy was born on Oct. 23, 1927 in Columbia City, Indiana to the late Elmer and Myrtle (Danser) Engle. He married on July 17, 1953 in Burket, Indiana to Alice Alvada Hohman, she preceded him in death on Nov. 10, 2014. Roy worked for Miller & Sons Lumber Company of Silver Lake for many years, retiring in 1990. He enjoyed the outdoors. In years past he was an avid fisherman and loved to hunt. In more recent years, he enjoyed the friends he made at the Warsaw Senior Center. Roy had lived for the past 3 years at Paddock Springs of Warsaw. Roy is survived by his daughters Joyce and husband Bryan Mendenhall of Claypool and Kathy and husband Arthur Fields of Mentone; 6 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alice, son Roy Allen Engle. Visitation hours will be from 5 pm to 7 pm, Monday, Jan. 3, 2022 at King Memorial Home 101 North Tucker Street Mentone, Indiana. A private interment will take place in the Palestine Cemetery, Palestine, Indiana. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Kosciusko Community Senior Services 800 N.
