Marvin Nay Marshall, 54, Akron, died at 9:58 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at Hickory Creek, Rochester. He was born April 25, 1958 in Warsaw, to parents Laymon Ray and Betty Sue (Howard) Marshall. Marvin worked at Champion Door in Warsaw for 10 years. Then he was employed for 24 years by Da-Lite Screening in Warsaw. He loved woodworking as well as his very large music collection. Marvin owned as many as 3,000 albums. Survivors include his grandmother, Rosie Prater; two brothers, Jimmy Ray Marshall, Rochester, and Brian Butler Marshall, Kentucky; one half sister, Shirley, Georgia; one aunt, Virgie and husband Doug Hollan, Talma; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Laymon Ray and Betty Sue Marshall; and one brother, DJ Marshall. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012 at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, with Pastor Luther Bailey officiating. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron. Burial is in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Rochester. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
