Martha E. Waymire

September 30, 1927 - January 14, 2015

Martha E. Waymire, 87, of Life Care Center, Rochester, formerly of Akron, died at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at Life Care Center. She was born on Sept. 30, 1927, in Frankfurt, Germany, to George Arthur Max Karl and Margarete (Geschwinder) Karl. She was married on Aug. 7, 1948, in Bad Nuheim, Germany, to Vernon Marks 'Bud' Waymire. He preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 2008. Martha worked for Kroger, Ag Exchange, Wabash, Laid Law Corp., Peru, and Chamberlin/Wen Products, Akron. She also assisted her husband while he was the Henry Township trustee for many years. Martha also sold Avon Products. She was a member of the Akron United Methodist Church as well as the Fulton County Republican Women's Club. She was an avid bowler and was in the 600 Club at Quick Lanes, Rochester, and Asby Lanes, Wabash. She enjoyed the children at the elementary school and sharing her life story with them. Being a war bride and achieving her citizenship, she helped many in the Hispanic community gain and know the importance of being an American citizen. Survivors include her sons, Kurt and wife Brenda Waymire, Akron, and Kerry and wife Deb Waymire, Glendale, Ariz.; daughter-in-law Patsy Waymire, Akron; and four grandchildren, Zachariah, Lauren, Taylor and Nathan Waymire. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sons, Michael Waymire and Max Waymire, grandson Elijah Waymire, and three brothers, Bernard, George and Kurt Karl. A private family service is to be conducted at a later date. Burial is to be at Gilead Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Henry Township Volunteer Fire Department or the Akron Youth League
