Jacqueline "Jackie" Groninger Judd Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jacqueline J. “Jackie” Groninger Judd, 96, of Warsaw and formerly of Akron, Indiana passed at 3:28 pm, Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Lutheran Hospital of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Jackie was born on Aug. 6, 1925 in Akron, Indiana to the late Theodore “Ted” and Lucille (Leininger) Jontz. She married on Feb. 22, 1946 to Otto L. Groninger, he preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 1985. She then married on Nov. 27, 1992 to Charles “Gus” Judd, he also preceded her on Nov. 2, 2011. She was a 1942 graduate of Akron High School. Jackie was a homemaker and a wonderful mother to her three daughters. She was a longtime member of the Akron United Methodist Church. She was a Girl Scouts leader and a member of the Red Hat Society, as well as a euchre and bridge clubs. She was an excellent seamstress making clothes for the family. She also liked traveling, fishing, swimming, and the lake. She loved Akron. Her family roots are very deep in Akron history. She is survived by her daughters Debra and husband Lynn Klotz of Leesburg, Shelly and husband Kim Lewis of Warsaw, and Peggy and husband Barry Murphy of Rochester; grandchildren Monica, Paige, Mike, Abby, Tara, Bailey, Aiden, Angie, Donna, Mark, Travis and Adam; and 26 Great Grandchildren; sister-in-law Kathy Groninger of Florida and brother-in-law Jim Harris of Logansport. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Otto and Gus, son-in-law Don Rich, and a sister Judy J. Harris. The memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Hartzler Funeral Home 305 West Rochester Street Akron, Indiana. A private interment will be in the Akron Cemetery, Akron, Indiana alongside her husband Otto. Memorial visitation will be held from 3 pm to 4 pm, Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, Indiana.
