Billie Jo Hively, 81, of Akron, Indiana passed at 7:15 am, Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Peabody Retirement Community of North Manchester, Ind. He was born on May 2, 1935 in Akron, Indiana to Sherman and Mary Josephine (Slaybaugh) Hively. He owned BJ’s Clothing of Akron, Ind. and was a foreman for Chamberlain Products. He had also worked for several other factories. He was a 1953 graduate of Akron High School where he had played basketball. He served his country in U.S. Army during the Korean War, stationed in Germany. He was a well-known horseshoe pitcher and an avid fisherman. He was rank 3rd in the nation and had won 2 State Championships. Survivors and place of residence: Long time Companion - Carol Jones – Akron, Ind.
