Barbara Jo Bahney Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Barbara Jo Bahney, 84, of rural Macy, Indiana passed surrounded by family at her home on Monday, July 4, 2022. Barb was born on Nov. 15, 1937 in Peru, Indiana to the late Floyd and Lavina (Hahn) Mygrant. She married on Feb. 18, 1956 in Peru, Indiana to John L. Bahney, he survives. She was a 1956 graduate of Peru High School. Barb was a homemaker and worked alongside her husband on their Dairy Farm. She was a longtime member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Barb also was a member of a Quilting Club and enjoyed camping and playing cards, especially euchre. She is survived by her husband John Bahney of Macy; daughters Karen and husband Kevin Wilson of Walton, Sandy and husband Steve Linn of Macy, and Tammy and husband Mayo Medina of Fulton; sons Allen and wife Lane Bahney of Macy, Tim and wife Jane Bahney of Akron, and Ted and wife Missy Bahney of Wabash; grandchildren Sara and husband Kyle Thomas, Dusty and wife Sharon Linn, Misty and husband Justin VanderIest, Ashley and husband John Stamper, Shaun and wife Brooke Wetzel, Alex and wife Hannah Bahney, Eric Linn, Nick Wilson, Kellie and husband Jacob Hutchison, Nate and wife Janay Wilson, Hannah and Jessica Bahney, Aaron and wife Nicole Bahney, Khyla and husband Jake Goodman, Garrett Bahney, Emily Bahney, and Clayton Bahney; and 24 Great Grandchildren. Barb was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Alice Berkheiser, Mary Jenkins, Martha Akers, Bonnie Mygrant, Molly Saltz, and Evelyn McMahan; and brothers Elbert “Bud” Mygrant and Everett Mygrant. The funeral service will take place at 10:30 am, Friday, July 8, 2022 at Hartzler Funeral Home 305 West Rochester Street Akron, Indiana with Rev. Wayne Balmer. The interment will take place following the service in the Gilead Cemetery, Gilead, Indiana. Visitation hours will be from 3 pm to 6 pm, Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, Indiana. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.
