Todd M. Nelson

Todd M. Nelson, 53 of Burket, Indiana passed at 1:57 pm, Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Parkview Regional Medical Center of Ft. Wayne, Indiana from complications of an accident on June 18. Todd was born on Oct. 31, 1968 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to Michael F. and Karen L. (Schulenburg) Nelson. He married on Dec. 31, 2003 in Sanibel Island, Florida to Jennifer M. Doud, she survives. Todd was a 1987 graduate of Tippecanoe Valley High School where he was on the varsity basketball team. After high school, he attended Purdue University where he earned his degree in Agricultural Economics. While at Purdue, he was a fraternity brother in the Farmhouse where he made lifelong friends. Todd worked at various places while growing up but always worked on the family farm. At Nelson Farms he managed the row crop side of the business, handled all of the bookkeeping along with taking care of several other responsibilities. Todd and his family attend Warsaw Community Church. He served on the former North Central Co-op advisory board. He also assisted in coaching Grant’s youth football team and was the boat Captain for him on the TVHS Bass fishing team. Todd was very involved in Grant and Sidney’s activities, especially when it came to 4-H. He always enjoyed the outdoors. He is survived by his wife Jenny (Doud) Nelson; son Grant Nelson; daughter Sidney Nelson; parents Michael and Karen Nelson of Burket; a brother Scott Nelson and wife Jenny of Burket; father and mother-in-law Jim and Bonnie Doud of Akron; brother and sister-in-laws Tim Doud and wife Misti of Plymouth, Rhonda Doud of Akron, Jamie Yates and husband Jeremy of Columbia City, and Matthew Doud of Akron; and nieces and nephews Haley, Cole, Katie, Ellie, Natalie, Kaylie, Tucker, and Maci. A private family service will be held. A public service will be announced at a later date. The arrangements have been entrusted to King Memorial Home 101 North Tucker Street Mentone, Indiana. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Indiana Donor Network 3760 Guion Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46222 or to the Fulton County 4-H Beef & Swine Committees.
