Iris V. Dickerhoff

Iris V. Dickerhoff, 86, of Mentone, Indiana passed at 5:58 pm, Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at her residence surrounded by loved ones. She was born on Aug. 3, 1932 in her grandmother’s home in rural Etna Green to Alden and Emma (Sparrow) Jones. She married Richard D. Dickerhoff on March 1, 1952 in Claypool, he preceded her on May 20, 2005. Iris was a homemaker and co-owner/bookkeeper of Dickerhoff Trucking. She was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School in 1950. She had been a longtime member of the Mentone United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Psi Iota Xi, Mentone Reading Club, John Purdue Club for many years, and the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. She had also been a Democratic Precinct Committeeman for many years and was one of the original organizers of the Jack and Jill Preschool. She was one of the three Inaugural McKown Trophy Winners for the Cheerleading Squad with the Most Spirit in 1949 and inducted into the Kosciusko County Hall of Fame in 2012. She was an avid Purdue and Cubs Fan and enjoyed Tippecanoe Valley Sports. Dickerhoff and wife Kelly – Warsaw, Ind. Grandchildren - Calan Barns, Danika Cervenka, Emma Miller, Dan R. Dickerhoff, Tanner Dickerhoff, Addie Dickerhoff, Philip Fozo, and Amanda Baxter Great Grandchildren – Brandt Baxter and Alex Fozo Brother – Alden and wife Penny Jones – Claypool, Ind. Howard and wife Carol Jones – North Manchester, Ind. Niece – Karen Heisler Groninger – Silver Lake, Ind. Preceded in Death By: Parents Husband – Richard Dickerhoff Son - Dan Dickerhoff (1963) Time and Date of Services: 10:30 am, Thursday, April 18, 2019 Place of Services: King Memorial Home 101 North Tucker Street Mentone, Indiana Minister: Pastor Jason Rice Place of Burial: Mentone Cemetery, Mentone, Indiana Visitation Hours: 3 pm to 7 pm, Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at King Memorial Home, Mentone, Indiana with a service being performed by the Beta Epsilon Chapter of the Psi Iota Xi will take place at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Mentone United Methodist Church or to the Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice.
